| The Discover U.S. Spending Monitor is a monthly survey that measures consumer spending intentions and economic confidence. The survey reflects Discovers effort, as a financial services company, to have its finger on the pulse of consumer spending patterns.
With 500 consumers polled daily and 15,000 polled monthly, the Discover U.S. Spending Monitor pulls from a significantly large sample size giving it a margin of error of only +/- 1 percent. In doing so, Discover is able to take statistically accurate snapshots of consumer confidence and consumer spending intentions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Surveys are conducted by Rasmussen Reports, an independent survey research firm.
